I have been an Ebay member since 2001 and I have used it many times to buy things for my family. Then in 2012 I started selling items on Ebay and I had some success and made money. Mostly I did this to pass sometime but I stopped selling in 2018 but I got back into it for some extra money 

Ebay is a search engine to help buyers and sellers connect 

I use it to search what topics and products that are up for sale. I also do some shopping myself. I am always looking for the best deal

How Ebay Works

From the seller prospective, I am trying to either sell my products to the customer or being the middleman to help the seller and the customer make a connection and collecting a fee for services 

What I learned 

1. Do your research on your products know what is hot and know what is not. I use google trends to find out what people are searching for or I select something like womens shoes and see what type and brand are being searched for in google

2. When you find a product it is time to go looking for it. I suggest http://Walmart.com or overstock.com for product fulfillment. This is where I started from but you can just google the product you wanted and find a source of it. Make sure you remember where you found the product, price, and cost of item. Don't forget about tax you have to pay on the product. I made a big mistake in not taking this into account. 

3. When listing your product fist thing is to get good pictures of the product and also a good description of the item and list as many keywords as possible. Ebay is a search engine and be sure to use all the keywords to help the customer find the item. 

4. After listing the product make sure you monitor DAILY how the bidding is going and also DAILY you keep an eye on the cost of the product to make sure their are no sudden price increase or decrease. If you have already purchased the item or have it in your stock you are good.

5. The item was sold. Best advice is to get the item out as soon as possible. Communication with the customer is good when you send a thank you message to the customer is good for business
